What a Wonderful Day!

Wow, what a day!! We opened the doors at 7 a.m. and I think every person who scrapbooks in this area rushed in. At about 6:30 a couple of people were already waiting at the door and by 6:45 a few more had joined them. By 7:55 we had a line out to the parking lot! From about 7:15 to 9:30 we had two registers going and each one had a line going all the way back to the paper isles! (We took plenty of pictures and I'm sure Mom will post them on the store blog soon.) It was such a cool thing to see and it really made us feel like we were doing something right. That and all this week has been busy. I'm going to take that as a sign that "You like us, you really like us!" As I was leaving after my shift two woman were walking in and I overheard one of them say, "I love this store. It's my favorite place to shop in the whole wide world!"

Our newsletter went out on Monday and we're getting people left and right signing up for classes. Quite a few of them already have 5 or 6 people! Be sure to check out Candy's Santa's Wish List Mini Album class. It's such a good idea. I wish I could make one, but I don't think Drew could tell me what he wanted just yet! Maybe I'll take it anyway and make one each year. I'm sure I could fill it out with the things he likes for this year.

Well I didn't get to take Laura's Thanksgiving Album in a Box class. It was full, plus one. There was only one spot left and a girl called to sign her and her friend up, and of course we said yes. Laura was very nice to give me directions on how to make though! It's so great that classes are really starting to fill up. Waahooo Scrapbook Generation Design Team!!

Working, Working, Working!

I'll be lucky if I get hardly any sleep this week! I'm working like a mad woman to get my class stuff done. I tried to come up with classes that would be great for Christmas gifts. I also tried to keep the prices reasonable. One of them is a mini album that is full of memories of a special relationship with somebody. This is a great gift or stocking stuffer for your husband or boyfriend and it's only $5.

I'm really looking forward to the Dec. 2 - Holiday Gift extravaganza. My project is an altered tin with a mini album inside. I used the new SEI papers and it turned out really cute. Anyway, time to get back to work!

I Have a Fan!!!

I can't believe it...I have a fan! A woman in my class walked up to me and told me that she was my number one fan! That's so flattering. I felt like a celebrity...okay maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit, but it sure made my day! She was such a nice person and very easy to talk to.

The class went great. It went by really fast since we were all talking so much. We really had a good time. I still can't believe that this is my job. I love it!! How great it feels to truly love your job.

This weekend I switched Drew's room and my scrapbook room. When we bought our house, the bigger spare room started filling up so we just put Drew in the smaller room. I was thinking how much room could a little baby need. Well now that he's got the toys piling up all over our living room I decided to move him into the bigger room so his toys can pile up in there. It was so much work! Mike decided that since it was all my idea I should do all the work alone. I thought my arms were going to fall off by Sunday night. I painted my scrapbook room a really pretty olive green and have cork boards for pub. stuff and my class ideas and info. All of my stuff is stored on three large book cases. It kind of looks like a mini Scrapbook Generation! Oh yeah, and Mike eventually helped me.

My Next Class

Memories Journal
Tuesday, November 14 - 6:00 p.m.
Fee: $5.00

In this class we are transforming a composition book into a journal. It could be a great Christmas gift for a friend or co-worker! You don't have to put a picture on the front, I'll have other ideas at the class for that space if you are interested. The picture I used happen to be a mistake. My husband was playing with my camera and accidentally took a picture. For some reason I really liked it. It's been sitting on my table in my scrapbook room just waiting for the perfect project. This journal is going to be part of one of my resolutions for the new year. I always have good intentions and then never follow up on them, but I would really like to start keeping a journal. It would be a great reference for journaling on my scrapbook pages. It's so easy to forget the small everyday things and this will be a good way to remember them.

Be sure to check out Laura Park's Thanksgiving Album in a Box class! I wish I had a babysitter so I could take the class. It's so cute and such a clever idea. It's a box that folds out with tags for each of your family members to write what they are thankful for. Maybe Mike will get off work early enough that I can sneak in at the last minute.

You can also get a look at Stacey's Dec. Wood Decor Word class. She's already got it on display and it is so good. For someone who really didn't want to get into "crapbooking", as she called it, she has really gotten good at it. Anyone who scrapbooks knows how easy it is to become addicted, and Stacey was no exception!

People really seem to be enjoying the design team and all of the wonderful and creative classes. Most of the classes are getting pretty good crowds in them. In the little time that I do get to spend at the store, I hear a lot of amazing compliments about each of the girl's pages and class displays.
