My Special Valentine Card
Thursday, February 1
6:00 p.m.
Fee - $5.oo

Life has been pretty crazy the last few weeks. I'm in a mad rush to get my Hall of Fame entries done. I've got 3 complete and 7 left to go and only around 10 days to do them in! I wish I could learn not to put things off until the last minute. I always seem to do this but I think I work good under pressure so no big deal...I guess.

Life at the store has been pretty busy too. The February Saturday Seminars are a big hit. I just counted how many people had signed up and you won't believe this. There are over 160 people signed up! Our store is going to be packed on Saturdays! I can't believe that we had to add more time slots. The phone has rang almost constantly since the newsletters went out.

I'm really excited about the classes coming up in February and March. Once again, Scrapbook Generation has got a packed schedule! I cut back a little on my number of class since I've got a lot more going on. I've got the Generation Card Kit Club to design for, Fancy Pants stuff, and I've got to get to work on my Hall of Fame entries. I'm starting to feel like I'm in a never ending get caught up race! It's a great thing that I love scrapbooking since it takes up most of my time!

I hope everyone is staying warm! Our power went out Friday night around 8:00 p.m. Drew kept going whoa, whoa, dark mommy! It was pretty cute. When Mike got home we headed over to Stacey's since she still had power. We got Drew all set up in her spare bedroom and put him to bed. When I shut the door to his room he started screaming Mommy, Mommy, Mommy and when I didn't answer he started in with Daddy, Daddy, Daddy. Well when Mike didn't answer either he started yelling Tacey, Tacey, Tacey! We all got a pretty good laugh at it! At about 3:00 a.m. Stacey's power went out but it came back on at 9:00 a.m. We went back home and thankfully our power was back on too.

On Saturday night around 11:00 p.m. Mike and I were getting ready to go to bed when I made the mistake of saying "I'm so glad our (at this point in my sentence the power goes out) power is on. I had spoke too soon. We decided to stick it out at our own house this time. Drew came and slept with us. Mike instantly rolled over and started snoring and Drew decided he couldn't sleep with out cuddling with me. He had his head on my shoulder, his arm around my neck, and a leg thrown over my stomach. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep! Our power came back on sometime the next afternoon.

Then on Sunday we were watching TV when the lights began to flicker. My stomach would actually flutter when the would do that. We were so tired of being cold and having to pack up and go somewhere else! Eventually the power did go out and we again packed up and went to Stacey's. On Monday morning we had power...again.

I feel really bad complaining, because so many still don't have power. We are lucky we had power when we did. I can't imagine what it would be like if you were new here and didn't have family or friends to stay with. Hopefully this next storm that is coming through here won't be as bad and cause more damage. I can't believe the trees. It almost looks like a tornado came through. It's so weird looking, pretty yet almost eerie at the same time.

I hope everyone who doesn't have power has it soon! Stay warm!!

Random stuff

Well it's official...my name is now on Fancy Pants Designs' website. No layouts on there just yet, but hopefully soon. Jodi had asked to use a couple of my layouts in their gallery so I'm anxious to see them. Be sure to check it out sometime...www.fancypantsdesigns.com .

I had my Wintery Card class today and it went great. It was an almost full one with only two spots open. I even had to do a few kits for people who couldn't make it. I've got three regulars, two that have signed up for almost all of my classes and one that has signed up for ALL of my classes! They are really great women and I enjoy having them in my classes. We usually have some fun and interesting things to talk about.

If there are any of my classes that you are interested in but can't make it on the scheduled day let us know. I've had a lot of people tell me that they love the class but live far away or have a busy work schedule and would love to have a kit. I've been making so many and don't mind at all to do them so keep in mind that it's an option. In the kits I include a picture of the project and step by step directions of how to assemble the project.

I've started working on my Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame entries and I'm afraid I didn't leave myself enough time to get them done. I'm sure that I'll get them done but it is going to be a lot of late nights in my scrapbook room! The one I'm working on now has taken me three days and I'm not even done with it yet. I want them to be perfect, if that's possible, so I'm really taking my time with them.

Be sure to pick up a copy of the Springfield News Leader on Tuesday and read about us!! That's so great that they picked us. I can't wait to read the article!

Saturday was a super busy day at Scrapbook Generation! I stopped in to pick up a few things and Karin and Stacey hardly had time to look up and say hi. They signed a lot of people up for the page and card kit clubs. They really seem to be a big hit!

Time to get back to work!!

The rest of my Fancy Pants entries

These are the other three that I sent in my submission for the Fancy Pants DT. The top four pictures are of a mini-album about Drew being the only boy on Mom's side of the family. I used the Fancy Pants chipboard florals as the pages. I've had a lot of people ask so I'm considering teaching a class on it.

Happy New Year!!
