I've been a bad blogger lately! It's that busy time of the month again! It just always comes way too quickly!

As you can see I finally got around to posting Drew's birthday cake pictures. I had seen a few monkey cakes online and in magazines but none of them really looked like George to me. Thank goodness on the Curious George DVD they show you how to draw George. I just baked the cake (and cupcakes for the ears) and drew George with a toothpick. It took me forever to get the right icing color and I was starting to get frustrated. By the time I did get the right, or close enough, color I was so tired of messing with it that I wasn't the neatest about getting the cake iced. Anyway, Drew really liked it and that was all that mattered to me. When he saw it he said "George!", so I knew I had at least gotten close!

I will post some more pictures of the party later. I left the other photo cds at the store!

So I've decided to take the plunge and enter CK's Scrapbooker of the Year. I don't really think I stand a chance but I thought it was worth a shot. It's kind of bad timing with the deadline on July 6th. That doesn't leave me much time to get the rest of my entry done!

Well I'm off to get some work done! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

*Not responsible for any typos or misspelled words. It's late and I'm tired!*

Random stuff:
I have Drew's birthday pictures but no photo cds. They were having problems with them so I have to go pick them up later. The good thing...they are free! I'll post them as soon as I get them.

All of us Scrapbook Generation DT gals are cooking up something that I hope everyone enjoys! Can't wait to get it all put together and get it started!

SG is packed with product!!! I have never seen the "Latest and Greatest" wall that full since we've been open. It was such a huge shipment of stuff that it couldn't all fit on that wall. Insane!! Go check it out!

Mike's vacation, not so much of a vacation. He's working w/ someone else to make extra money. And here I thought I was going to have time to get caught up on a lot of things. What am I going to do with him?

I got a huge box full of Imagination Project goodies. Awesome stuff!

I'm really looking foward to CHA in Chicago this July. I get to meet some of the other HOF girls which I'm really excited about. Downfall to the whole trip...I'm stuck in a car w/ Mom and Karin. Mom doesn't think it's "safe" for me to fly. We've flown all of the country and overseas but ya know (insert sarcasm here) I'm so much more comfortable with 18 wheel big rigs flying past our teeny car. Well and to put it nicely, Mom's driving sucks.

My scrap room is a disaster right now. I'm in the middle of cleaning it so I can get back to work on all the projects that are piling up. You can't even see the floor and I've got a sugar free Red Bull pyramid going up against the wall. It's sad. I've got to stop drinking those things. $1.99 a can. Way too much!!

I can't figure out my supposedly fabulous printer. All I want is to print my pictures from home and have them look great. I really don't want to have to drag out the manual but it looks like I'm going to have to. Yuck.

I'm really excited that the 4th of July is coming up. It's my favortie holiday and Mike got me a tripod so hopefully I can get some awesome fireworks pictures. Bad thing about this year. Having to be at a family function w/ a (I guess I can say ex-relative) that I'm not too fond of. I don't know how all that's going to go since I don't want her within 10 feet of Drew and I have no problem letting that be known. We'll see I guess. Hope it doesn't get ugly. Stacey and I are both pretty good at just walking away and bitching about it later to each other. We've been doing it for years. Sometimes it sucks being the bigger person.

Well I guess that's all I've got to ramble on about tonight!! Have a scrap-fabulous day!

It's Hall of Fame Product Challenge time at Creating Keepsakes. We've decided to feature two different manufacturers each month due to the large amount of companies that contributed to the prize package. This month were two of my favorites! Doodlebug and DaisyD's!

This first page is my Doodlebug page. I love those paper frills! They come in about every color possible with tons of different designs. I'm now offically addicted to them! This is actually my first ever 8 1/2 x 11 page. I've wanted to try it out but just never thought about it when it came time to make a page. It was fun and a challenge for me. I look forward to doing many more!

This one is my DaisyD's page! I am so in love with DaisyD's!! Anytime we get anything DaisyD's in at Scrapbook Generation, I buy it all. I really love the colors of these patterned papers, they could fit with any occasion. Their rubons are awesome! I especially love the large ones. (like the one I used for my title.) They are some of the easiest to rub off rubons that I have ever used.

Journaling:
With Mike working long hours he gets to see Drew for about an hour a day. Except for those rare days when he gets home early. I hate it. What I see through the week is Drew missing his Daddy. There are times that he will ask, "Where Daddy", and I have to break it to him that Daddy is at work. I sometimes worry that is will affect their father/son bond. That they won't know each other very well. But it doesn't. What I see on the weekends is a race to make up for the lost time during the week. They play, laugh, and have little inside jokes that I'm not allowed to participate in. What I see is a father and son that love each other and really value the time that spend together.

Anyway, go check out all of the other Hall of Fame pages and then dig through your stash and play along!! If you don't have either Doodlebug or DaisyD's, we have a ton at Scrapbook Generation.

I wish I had time to say more, but I've been so busy this week. Lots to do!!
Hope you have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Drew!! (Yesterday was the party but today is his actual birthday.)

I can't believe that it's been two years! The picture is from the day we left the hospital and I can't believe how quickly those two years have gone by! I remember that day like is was just yesterday.

The party was fun minus the few tantrums. You could definitely tell he's two. I ended up making two cakes. I had two different designs in my head and couldn't decide. I made the first one, loved it, and decided the other one could just be for eating.

I'll post some pictures later!

My Father's Day Mini-Album class is full and my layout class is getting close. I'll try to post a picture of it soon!

Have a great day!!

Father's Day Mini Album
Monday, June 11
6:00 p.m.
Fee - $18.00

For this class we will be using Bo Bunny's 6 x 6 Bare Naked Binder and 7gypsies 97% Complete stickers. I decided to keep this one really simple and "manly". One nice thing is that I didn't even come close to using all of the 97% Complete stickers so you'll have plenty left over for another project. They come with so many! I've only got two spots left so hurry! You can stop by or call Scrapbook Generation at 471-886-0440 to sign up. Hope to see you there!

Now for an update on the Arby's rant. I stopped there the other night and ordered my usual. When I got to the window to pay I said I wanted a ton of Arby's sauce thinking that maybe if I used a better word than a lot it would result in more than two packets. It worked. I got a mini bag full of Arby's sauce. Enough to last me for a good year. The bad thing. I got home and had no fries. ugh.

I got my hair chopped off yesterday. I went way shorter than I usually do. I coudn't get an appointment with the wonderful girl that cuts my hair on such short notice so I had to go somewhere else. I ended up with this lady that gave me the most painful haircut of my life! It felt like she was ripping the hair out. Her scissors were getting a little too close for comfort to my eyes and I just knew I was going to lose a chunk of my ear. I think I offended her when I said I didn't want her to style my hair, (I was in a major hurry and she was a slow cutter.), because when she was shaking the cut shreds of hair off my head, she starting swatting me. I felt like I was in trouble for something! It was not a fun experience, but I ended up with a great haircut.

No more scrapbooking for me for the next few days! I have got some major cleaning and planning to do for Drew's birthday party. I had hoped to get more done on my mini vacation but I should know better. I'm such a slow scrapbooker! Especially when it's for a class. I just want people to get something great out of the class. I worry about it way too much.

I probably won't be able to blog again until the party is over so I hope everyone has a great weekend!

One of my latest pages. I love all of these pictures!

This weekend went by way too fast! I had so much that I needed to get done but ended up not feeling very good. Nothing exciting happened...just my butt planted on the couch all weekend. The good thing was that there was an America's Next Top Model marathon on yesterday! I love that show. I love seeing all the cool photos. Some of the girls don't look all that pretty until you see a picture of them all made up. It's amazing what make up, cool hair, and good lighting can do.

Tomorrow and the next day I get a mini vacation. Mom offered to watch Drew all day Tuesday and Wednesday! It's going to be so nice to get caught up on some things and get the house ready for Drew's birthday party. I'm going to attempt to get all of my class projects done. I'm actually doing a couple of layouts this time around. I'm also doing a father's day card, father's day mini album, 4th of July card, and a birthday mini album. I had to cut back my classes a little with everything getting so busy around here. I'm glad that I did, simply because I feel I get to put more time into my classes projects instead of rushing to get the next one done.

Hopefully, the next time I post I'll have a lot of pictures to show! Have a great day!

Did you notice how the fall page below mysteriously disappeared? I guess they liked it after all! In one day I managed to sneak two more layouts into the October issuse. Those two layouts are really exciting for me simply because they are my first (non-Hall of Fame) layouts that will be published. I can't wait to see them!

I had no idea that Creating Keepsakes was going to have a page with the HOF pictures in the July issue. Stacey called me and asked if I knew about it...nope, no idea. It was weird seeing my face in there...a great kind of weird. I can only imagine what it is like to see your layout on one of those pages.

June crept up on me. Drew's 2nd birthday is only 10 days away! I can't believe he's already 2. Those years just flew by! I can't wait for his birthday party. I'm such a geek when it comes to stuff like that. We are doing a Curious George theme (this kid is such a Curious George fanatic) and I've got some awesome ideas for the cake! For some reason it is really important to me that I make his birthday cakes. I guess it is because Mom always made ours and I remember each and every one of them. It was just nice that she made that effort. She is so good at the little things like that and she was fabulous at the cake decorating. If only I could get her to teach me a little! His 1st birthday was my first attempt at the cake decorating.

Not too bad, for my first one!

The card kits are done...as of 4:30 a.m. I always think I'm ahead of the game and then somehow I end up rushing at the last minute. I'm so tired right now. TGIF!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
