Happy Halloween!

Finally! I am now the owner of a Nikon D40X!! Woohoo! It's about time and I love it!

I ended up not looking around on Sunday. I was going to but I tend to feel guilty when I buy something for myself anymore. I think it's that whole having a kid thing. I had managed to talk myself out of buying it...again.

Anyway, on Monday I had a really bad day. One of those days that you just want to crawl in bed and sleep for the rest of the day. I ended up driving right over to Lawerence Photo and bought myself a camera without hesitation. Nothing like a little bit of retail therapy!

Bye bye film. You will not be missed!

Thank You!

I just wanted to send out a big thank you to those of you that came to see me on "Allison Davis Day" at the store. (I still laugh anytime I say or type that!) When Mom had told me that she was going to have that day, I was nervous and not exactly comfortable having a me day. I was terrified that nobody would show up! You all made the day a great one and I'm so touched by all of the wonderful and nice things you said about me! Thank you!!! Hopefully I'll have some pictures of the day to post soon!

Guess what I'm doing today! In a little bit I will be out camera shopping! Woohoo! Finally, I might be getting a digital SLR! It's still a big maybe but I'm excited just at the thought of looking!

I hope everyone has had a great weekend!!

Look Up!

I seem to change my blog header as much as I change clothes. I just thought it was time for a change and my old header was driving me nuts! I'm so not good at this computer designing stuff.

So I've been tagged. Is it sad that I love being tagged? I think it fits into my enjoyment of making lists. I know that I got that weird trait from Mom...you should see the lists she makes over useless stuff. Really, I can't make fun of her too much. Like I said, I do the exact same thing. The only way I know that she is worse than me was the year that I got to her house early for Mother's Day. She had all of the serving dishes that she was going to use for lunch out on the island in the kitchen. In each dish was a sad little yellow post-it with the name of the food that would be placed in it. I got a pretty good laugh at it. I hope she finds the humor in me posting that information.

Here's the deal: Link to the person who tagged you; Share 7 random facts about yourself; Tag 7 other people and leave them a comment to let them know you tagged them; and, post these rules on your blog!

1. I worked at McDonalds in high school for three days. Worst three days of my life. Okay, so I'm being a little dramatic, but it was pretty bad.
2. I pretended to believe in Santa Claus longer than I actually did believe in him. I thought that if I admitted that I knew there was no such thing I would stop getting presents for Christmas.
3. I'm a sucker for a good brownie. Uh oh. Pregnant girl just got the thought of brownies stuck in her head. Oh hubby...
4. I actually like watching UFC. Don't tell Mike.
5. I went to a New Kids on the Block concert in 6th grade.
6. I won $200 on a $5 slot machine in Vegas. I put a $5 bill in, hit the button and presto...$200.
7. My favorite time of day is Drew's bedtime. Not because he's going to bed for the night but because of our routine. It's our time and I love it!

Now it's your turn!

I hope I got all of those links right!

Finally a good picture of Drew and I. I was beginning to think that this day was never going to come. It's amazing what M&Ms can do to persuade this kid.

This pregnancy thing is kicking my butt! The times that I usually do everything (blog posting, scrapbooking, working, etc.) is when I happen to be most tired. I'll be so glad when this part is over! I'm already showing and this part kind of sucks too. It's that part where you don't really look pregnant but instead like you've put on a few pounds. If you can't tell I'm not one of those "oh, I love being pregnant" kind of girls. I mean it's great that we are adding to our family and all but I just don't like the pregnancy part! It's the outcome that is great!

Yesterday was a day of firsts. Drew's first day at daycare and my first day back at the store. It was funny to hear his recap of the day.

I build blocks.
Kids knock over blocks.
I had good time.
Girl got book.

He even called Stacey and Mom to tell them about his day. It was so cute!

Right now he is just going once a week and I feel bad about that. He really had a good time and I know that the social interaction with other kids is good for him. It was also nice for me to have some social interaction with people over the age of 2. It was nice to have conversations that didn't revolve around Go Diego Go or what our dogs are doing.

Well, since this is about the only time of day that I don't feel like crap, I'm going to try and get some work done. Funny. I never thought I would be a morning person.

Tonight Mom, Karin, Stacey, and I are going out to dinner to celebrate Scrapbook Generation's 3rd birthday. I can't believe how quickly those three years have gone! It seems like just yesterday Stacey was saying we should name it "The Crapbook Store" and we were spending our days putting together the fixtures, painting, and trying to display the mountains of product that was coming in. What a great 3 years it has been getting to know all the people that have shopped in our store and taken our classes.

I'm so thankful that store has been such big part of our lives. I can't help but wonder where in the world I would be or doing if we had never had that "meeting" and decided that this would be a fun adventure. I am so lucky that my hobby also happens to be my job. (Sometimes I think Mom just wanted to start a store so that she could still be mine and Stacey's "boss". What a smart lady she is!)

I'm looking forward to a weekend of racing. This time we won't be watching, instead Stacey and I will be working. Every year in October we score a race that our family organizes and runs in Hartville. It's always a fun time even though it seems every year we freeze our butts off.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

MIA

So I've taken a little break from the online world. No reason in particular other than I'm exhausted. At first I thought it was just from late night scrapbooking and working a lot over the last few months. It was to the point of being exhausted even when I would get a full 8 hours of sleep. I thought it was my body saying "Hey! Slow down!". I was wrong. It is saying "Hey! You're pregnant!"

Baby #2 is on it's way and we are very excited!

It's so funny how different it is the second time around. I somewhat know what to expect and it's not as scary. We are much more relaxed and calm about it. So far it's been nothing like when I was pregnant with Drew. I haven't been sick at all, just really, really tired. Hopefully this pregnancy will be much easier than Drew's was! (Which he was totally worth every bit of it anyway so it doesn't really matter!)

I've heard that the HOF book is making it's way around the country! I can't wait to see it! Hopefully it will be in at Scrapbook Generation sometime this week. I was really happy with the 5 layouts that they chose to publish in the book and one of them ("Bowl-a-holic") will have you thinking I'm the biggest dork on the planet! The journaling is completely outragous and goofy.

We (MIke, Drew, and I) spent the weekend in Branson at Scrapbook Generation's retreat. Drew's first time in a hotel wasn't exactly the greatest experience. He hated going in our room! I felt really bad for anyone on the same floor as us! His screaming was so loud! The only time he was really happy was when we would go see Mom and Karin. The second we would open the door to the crop room he would yell "Grandma!!!!". I think all the woman kind of got a good giggle out of that.

I couldn't believe all the hard work that Mom, Karin, and Stacey put into everything. It makes me feel bad for not being more invloved with it other than teaching! I will say the Welcome to Fabulous Scrap Vegas sign was the coolest thing (well, that and Karin's salsa cheese dip. I ate way too much of it!) . I thought that maybe we ordered from somewhere. Nope. Stacey and Jeremy spent a lot of time putting it together. It looked exactly like the real Welcome to Las Vegas sign! I'm sure Mom will post pictures on the store blog.

Despite Drew's dislike for the hotel we did have a nice family weekend. We took Drew to some sort of kids park with rides. He was excited to ride each one but then the second the ride would start going he would cry and say "Done! Done! Done!" It was kind of funny. I mean, I hate saying the laughing at my childs tears is funny but it was just the part about being so eager to ride them and then all of the sudden not wanting to. I'm sure the pictures will be entertaining. The best was seeing Mike ride the tea cups with him. I think that was the only ride that Drew actually smiled.

Well, I hope everyone had a good weekend! I'll try to do a little better at blogging. :)
