The last few.

The last pages of my page a day challenge. I can't wait to pick this up again when I get back!

These pictures still crack me up when I see them. I have no idea what caused his hair to stand up like that but it was hilarious. I remember walking into his room to get him out of his crib after his nap and he greeted me with his usual smile AND a messy mohawk. Of course I had to take pictures!

This page probably represents one of my favorite things about scrapbooking. I love trying to find a way for the design to fit the theme. I love coming up with my own little details and embellishments.

So I'm starting to get a little a nervous for my CKC Tulsa trip. I've been teaching scrapbooking classes for about 3 years but I don't think I've ever had more than 20 people in a class. I'm hoping that it's kind of like racing. It's terrifying and you get nervous as hell before but as soon as the green flag flies you forget all about it and just do what you came to do. Okay, so technically there's no green flag for scrapbooking and I don't think it will be terrifying, but you get what I mean! ;)

Taking a break...kind of

So it's time for me to take a little break from the page a day fun. Time has been flying by and the other day I looked over my calendar to see about any upcoming must do things. I didn't realize it was getting so close to my weekend at CKC in Tulsa where I'll be teaching five different classes. I can't believe that it's only a week away! I had to put a stop to the page a day so I could prepare for everything. I'm sure when I get back I'll pick it up again.

I don't have my latest pages to post yet but I'll get them up soon. I do have pictures of the mini-album for one of the classes that I will be teaching at Scrapbook Generation's fall retreat in Branson. This might actually be the most important scrappy thing I've ever made. It's my "Just In Case" album. Each page is actually an envelope and each envelope is for a different person that has played a huge part in my life. In each envelope is a letter to that person. Each letter is for the things that I might not say everyday or show everyday but what I definitely feel for that person. It's my just in case something ever happened to me album.

This is a little sample of the pages inside. I think there are actually ten pages total.

This album was perfect for me because I'm horrible about expressing my feelings. For some reason I'm much more comfortable writing it down.

I also wanted to include this picture...

I had bought these shirts right before Jackson was born. I was so excited that he was finally big enough to wear his. I think I ended up taking a million pictures. Mom had to hold both of them and Stacey stood behind me and danced a jig or something like that to make Drew laugh. It was quite the little production.

I almost forgot...the shirt with the felt crown survived our washer and dryer with flying colors. Looks as good as new! :) I'm actually surprised. Our washer has to be older than me. All clothes are lucky to survive!

24, 25, and 26...

Monday

Tuesday

This one is my second attempt at stitched circles going across the pages. I had done that on one of my previous layouts but it just didn't quite turn out how I had in my head.

Wednesday

I thought I would let this little cutie model my latest creation...

I love stitching on the Fancy Pants felt shapes for my pages so I thought why not stitch one onto fabric. I started out with a simple shape since I didn't know how easy or hard it was going to be. Turns out it was super easy and only took me about 15 minutes.

I made it...

The rest of the pages I can't show on here. :( I'm actually even ahead. A few days I got two layouts done. It's almost like I get faster and faster at putting them together. To think, I used to be the girl that would take days to get one layout done.

Things I've learned while doing a page a day:

1. I hardly ever use colored cardstock. It's almost always a neutral and usually white or french vanilla. (21 out of 23 layouts use neutral cardstock as a base) My next challenge is to use a color!

2. Stitching is definitely my go to technique. I will look at a page and think it doesn't look finished until I do some sort of stitching. ( 20 out of 23 layouts have stitching)

3. I almost always use 4 x 6 photos. (21 out of 23 layouts have 4 x 6 photos, 10 of those layouts have 4 x 6 only)

4. Thickers and Doodlebug alphabets are my favorite. (I have used them on 15 out of 23 layouts)

5. I'm without a doubt a 2-page girl. (20 out of 23 are 2-page layouts)
