I just wanted to take the time to respond to an anonymous comment I had on my post about being exhausted. I'm not sure what you are implying with the link that is provided and maybe I'm jumping to conclusions but I don't let Jackson "cry it out". In my post I had talked about Jackson refusing to sleep in his bassinet and how exhausted I was. The reason that I'm so exhausted is that I don't let him cry it out! :) I pick him up, comfort him, get him back to sleep and then I put him back in his bassinet.

I must be having a bad day. :) Usually I wouldn't ever respond in this way. If I'm jumping to conclusions, I'm sorry. I've had a rough day.

Some Fancy Pants Fun

If you get the chance go check out the Fancy Pants blog. Every Monday they post a fun project with instructions. This monkey door hanger was my project for last Monday. I was in a mad rush to give Drew's room a new look before Jackson arrived (In a few months it will be Jackson's room too.) I wanted to find a color scheme that would work for both a baby and a toddler and when I saw the Fancy Pants About a Boy collection I knew the colors would be perfect. I've now decided that anytime the mood strikes to redecorate a room, I'm turning to scrapbooking papers for inspiration. There is just so much cool stuff out there!

Eat. Sleep. Poop. Repeat.

Life in the Davis house right now is pretty exhausting! Jackson is the easiest baby during the day but at night he transforms into a fussy, crying baby. It's like he knows it's bedtime and refuses to sleep in his bassinet. I'm determined to get him to sleep in there without fussing so I've had very little sleep in the last few nights. Oh well, that's to be expected!

Drew is having a hard time adjusting to life with a baby brother. He has his moments. When he came to see us in the hospital he wouldn't even come close to Jackson. He stayed on the other side of the room and hid behind a chair. At one point Mike finally got him to come to the other side of the room but he still wanted nothing to do with Jackson.

Mike tried to have a little talk with Drew and explained that Jackson was coming home with us. It was during this father/son conversation that I got this hilarious picture. Mike seriously explaining it all to Drew and Drew doing his best to ignore him. After a few days of being around Jackson, Drew kind of warmed up. He's helped me feed him a few times and when Jackson cries he'll sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" to him. It is so cute!

It's been a big transition to go from one kid to two but I have to say that it's a great feeling to know that your family is complete. It's so fun to say "the boys" and think about how fun it's going to be when they can run around the yard and play together. Although I'm sure we are going to have a lot of days full of "Mom, Drew hit me!" and "He did it!" arguments.

So life is great right now. Tiring, but great. I feel so lucky to have these boys!
