I don't know if I've ever gone this long without blogging. Let's just say that life has been busy. Well not necessarily busy, I'm just busy enjoying it. I'll do a little recap of a few things that have been going on.

Drew's birthday party was a success. We had a few mishaps but that's to be expected. The biggest was the cake catastrophe. I will spare you the details. It all turned out fine. Drew loved his cake and that was all that mattered.

The "Birthday Tree" was a hit. I think everybody thought I was insane but Drew loved it. He had been saying since Christmas that for his birthday he wanted a Christmas tree at his party. I wasn't about to drag out our huge tree so I decorated a small one with Lightening McQueen foam shapes and ribbon.

I won $1000.00 on a scratcher ticket. I never buy them but for some reason thought I would give it a shot.

After the first number matched and I saw that I had won $50.00 I thought, "Sweet! Fifty dollars!" Each number ended up matching and each prize was $50.00. What a nice little bonus that was!

For a few days our backyard was a lake.

One day it was so bad that our street was completely under water! All I have to say is - Rain, rain, go AWAY!

We thought it would be fun to take a little trip to Animal Paradise (used to be Exotic Animal Paradise). It cost us $33.00 to see a few deer, something that we named a zonkey because it looked like a mix between a zebra and a donkey, a couple of goats, cows, and...

this big smelly camel that Drew was brave enough to feed. I now know why they dropped the "Exotic" part from the name. Seriously it was horrible. The only part that made it fun was that Drew loved it.

This little guy is getting cuter (and chubbier) every day.

And he already needs a hair cut! Look at the hair over his ears! The back is really long too.

I was hoping that we could make it a year before we cut it but at this rate his eyes will be covered!

So there is my little recap! :)

we welcomed this little guy. I can't believe it's been three years! It's gone way too quickly! I'm in the middle of planning and preparing for the big party on Sunday. This year we are going with a Disney CARS theme complete with a Christmas Tree turned Birthday Tree. (I'll tell that story in another post!) So...

D is for Dinosaur

Drew has got this "thing" for dinosaurs right now. There are, according to Drew, dinosaurs hiding in our closets, drains, mouths, even our belly buttons. So when I decided to redecorate his room I knew that he would love something that had to do with dinosaurs. I bought four 5 x 7 canvases and with a big dose of inspiration from BasicGrey's dinosaur line I started working on some fun decorations. I would have just used the actual chipboard dinosaurs from BasicGrey but they just weren't the right colors. Instead I recreated them by simply tracing around each one and cutting them out of cardstock. I must say these were a lot of fun to make and Drew absolutely loved them!

Here are some pictures of each one. I think the first one is my favorite!

The two that have the "J" and the "D" are kind of plain and I'll probably end up adding something to them, I just don't know what yet! I was in such a rush to get them up so I could surprise Drew.

I couldn't leave Jackson out so even though he's not sharing a room with Drew just yet he got his own canvas too. I hope some day he likes it as much as Drew does!

I can't believe that it's almost 1:00 a.m. and I'm still up! Yes it will be a rough day tomorrow but we are in the middle of tornado season and apparently we are going to have a yucky night! The other night I actually said to Mike, "I can't believe we've had such a mild season this year. The only time we heard sirens was in January!" I had spoke to soon. At about 12:00 a.m. we were awakened by those lovely sirens. I hate that sound!! I am not looking forward to tonight at all!!

I Scrapbooked!

I've had these pictures sitting on my scrap table for months. They were rediscovered last week when I found them hiding under a pile of paper. I finally decided that I was going to lock myself in my scrapbook room and work on something! Mike took over the boys for a few hours while I scrapped away! It was the perfect getaway I needed to recharge myself. This going from one to two is tough!

The other day Jackson was crying and I started to head into the kitchen to get him a bottle when Drew walked over to him and just stared. I kept an eye on him to see what he was up to as I fixed the bottle. Drew then leaned over, pat Jackson gently on the head and started singing to him. It was so cute! He's really starting to get the hang of this big brother thing!

My favorite things about Jackson right now:
- The little humming noise he makes when he's drinking his bottle.
- How he tucks his legs up when you pick him up.
- The face he makes when he's mad... he looks like a little old man.
- When he falls asleep on my shoulder.
- The angry pacifier sucking noises.
- His frantic face when he's really hungry and you touch his mouth with the bottle. He opens his mouth and shakes his head really fast in a frantic search for it.
- How he snorts sometimes when he cries.
- When I rub his check while he's sleeping and he smiles.
- The cute faces he makes when he sleeping. He'll go from a full open mouthed smile to a pouty frown in seconds. I love watching him sleep!
