18 days = 18 pages

Still going strong and still lovin' every minute of it!

This page was one that made me so thankful for being able to crop photos! Stacey had taken these of me and Drew two weeks after Jackson was born. To but it nicely, I looked big enough to eat Drew. But with the help of some much loved cropping tools I was able to cut out the unpleasant parts.

I had to include these cute pictures of Jackson. While Mike and Drew where playing out on the swing set yesterday, Jackson and I had a little photo shoot. I love that you can see his pretty (I should say handsome) blue eyes!

This week is going to be tough one to get a page a day done. I've got a ton of other things that need to be taken care of first. I think I've got it all scheduled out but who knows if it will actually work out that way. If I can make through this week...there's no stopping me!

12 and 13

I'm loving the whole page a day thing so much that I don't want to stop at 30. I've now decided that I'm going to see how long I can go. No set amount of days. Just me getting as many pages done as I can. Maybe I'll only make it to 20 and maybe, just maybe I'll make it to 100. I think I'm getting ahead of myself a little. I'm not even halfway yet! Close, but still a few days away.

Monday

I have been staring at this striped transparency from Fancy Pants for weeks just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it. I found it with these pictures of Drew doing his best to distract me from Jackson. He knew my weakness was my camera and very loudly said "Mommy! Take my picture! Take my picture! Look! Cheeeeese!" Of course I fell for it.

Tuesday

I have my blog to thank for this page coming together so quickly. I didn't have to worry about journaling since I had already written about it on my blog. I also already knew what paper I wanted to use so I didn't spend hardly any time picking everything out.

So far not one day has been a pinch or hassle to get the page done. They have all come together somewhat easily. I think each day I'm getting more and more comfortable with my style. I seem to be doing a lot less sitting and staring at pages. Instead I jump right in and get it done. :)

Days 8-11

I'm am loving this page a day challenge. So far I've kept up with it and have no intentions of slowing down. It's like I've gotten in the habit and can't stop myself. This is definitely a good way to jump back into scrapbooking if you haven't done it in awhile.

Thursday

This one was such a fun layout to put together. I love adding little designs and details that go with the theme of the page.

Friday

It's kind of hard to tell but the swirls/splashes are glittery. By the time I was done with this page I was covered with glitter!

Saturday

It was fun to do a page that I could use flowers on. When I first started scrapbooking I would buy flowery stuff all the time and most of it is still sitting on the shelf unused. I was so bad about buying what I thought was pretty and not what I could use.

Sunday

One thing you might notice about this page and my Saturday page is that they both have the same photo layout. I've been doing this a lot lately. When you change up everything else on the layout but keep the photos in the same position you can end up with a completely different looking layout. The big difference in the two layouts of mine is that I moved the title and journaling to different places on the page.

Still going strong!

The page a day challenge is still under way. If I surprised you with a 1-page layout on the last post, prepare to be shocked.  (For some reason the pictures of these layouts turned out really crappy...don't know what happened there!)

Monday

These are my favorite pictures of Jackson. They are the first pictures that I got of him really awake and wide eyed. I think I ended up taking 60 pictures of him!

Tuesday

A 1-page layout! Most of the time, even if I have only a few pictures, I will still go with a 2-page layout but this one just wasn't working for me. I ended up condensing it to a 1-page. I'm not a big fan of how this one turned out. I really don't like the paint on the background. It's bugging me enough that I'll probably switch it to plain white cardstock.

Wednesday

Here's the shocker... another 1-page layout! It was basically the same situation as the other one. I started with a 2-page layout in mind but it just wasn't coming together the way I wanted. What's funny is that most of the time it takes me longer to put together a 1-page layout than it does for me to do a 2-page layout. I struggle with 1-pagers!

So I'm six days in and haven't missed a day yet. It helps that when Drew is napping, Jackson hangs out in my scrapbook room with me. Sometimes he sleeps and other times he babbles and I babble back. Then at night I usually stay up until 1 or 2 a.m. With Jackson sleeping through the night and Mike letting me sleep in until he heads off to work, I get plenty of sleep. It's a crazy, crammed schedule but it works!

I can't believe it...

I have actually stuck with the page a day challenge. I figured I would've missed a day by now since our weekend was pretty busy but somehow I managed to get it done. One thing I've learned during this process - when I use my handwriting I can get a page done a whole lot faster. I know that sounds silly but it takes me forever to figure out what font I want to use.

Friday

This is the first page I've made of Jackson. It's his stat page for his baby book.

Saturday

I've had this page idea in my head for a long time but I don't know if it came out exactly the way I wanted. The stitched tornado turned out better than I thought it would but I don't know what I think about the big circles as storm clouds.

A challenge

I have decided to challenge myself as a way to use up my stash and get some pages done. I've planned 30 pages and I'm going to try to get one done a day. Let's see if I actually pull it off! This page is my Thursday page. It went very quickly because I had a sketch, the journaling all done and a title ready. All I had to do was sit down and put it all together. It was fun to get to use some pink for once. Karin will always be my excuse for using pink!

I knew this was going to be the summer of injuries since Drew is getting braver and more active. I just didn't expect this...

He fell off the step on our back porch, which is just a concrete slab, and landing right on his forehead. It immediately started swelling and he's got a huge bump on his forehead. This was the first injury that it actually hurt me to look at it. He's pretty proud of it though. He asked me to take a picture of it so he could see it and then this morning when I dropped him off at daycare he ran in to show it off. Being the mother of boys I'm sure I need to get used to these kind of injuries!

Another addition to Drew's room. I made a growth chart with some really cute felt rockets from Fancy Pants. Thank goodness I saved every growth record from our doctor so I can mark Drew's height from birth to now. The only bad thing about it is that Drew wants to pull it down.

Have a great weekend! :)

What were they thinking?

This post is going to be filed in the "it's a good thing my husband doesn't read this" pile. I just can't resist.

On Friday we went to my Grandpa Arnall's for the 4th. My cousin lives next door and his son is a skateboarder. After watching him, Mike and Jeremy (Stacey's husband) decided that they could conquer "dropping in". The pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy.
