A Giveway and Life Documented with Simple Stories

It finally time! My first project for Simple Stories as a part of their Life Documented Team! Apologies for the excessive "!" at the end of each sentence! I might be a little excited!

Excited because my project includes more than just a layout! There is a sketch too! Of course there is a sketch. I bet anyone who knows me saw that coming a mile away. I do kind of love sketches.

Each month I'm going to be creating a sketch and layout that has one side following the more traditional route of scrapbooking and the other side using the Sn@p! Pocket Pages. I think it's a fun concept to combine the two. Especially for people like me that love the Pocket Pages and cards but still want to get in some regular scrapbooking too.

Here a look at my first Life Documented sketch:

I still haven't scrapbooked the pictures from our vacation two years ago. Honestly, it's just too overwhelming. There are so many pictures! One day is 800 pictures and about 400 different little stories and moments and memories. It's a lot to take on!

However, I think this whole mix of traditional and the photo album-ish thing, like the Pocket Pages, is the way to go. I can have a little fun but also get it done quickly. The layout I created (below) has a ton of detail and it took very little time thanks to the cute cards. Those Pocket Pages made it so incredibly easy.

If you want to download the full sketch with all the measurements and directions be sure to go check out my post at Simple Stories. There is a link in my post, under the sketch. Plus, if you want to get a closer look at the details on my layout, there are tons of close up pictures showing a lot of the little details.

To celebrate my first post I say we do a giveaway! Leave a comment here AND on my post at Simple Stories and I'll randomly select two people to win a copy of Scrapbook Generation's Sketch Fusion with Simple Stories!

I'll announce the winners on Monday! Hope you enjoy the post and have a great weekend! :)

  17. Oh, I love this idea. I don't want to go entirely to the pocket pages - I love 'regular' pages too much - but this gives me hope that our many vacations from the past few years might finally make it into books.

Love the two page layout. Having one "fancy" page and the other with leftover pictures that are too good to leave out is a great idea. Not only does it cut down on the work but it gives you a chance to use a lot more pictures.
