I've been a bad blogger lately! It's that busy time of the month again! It just always comes way too quickly!

As you can see I finally got around to posting Drew's birthday cake pictures. I had seen a few monkey cakes online and in magazines but none of them really looked like George to me. Thank goodness on the Curious George DVD they show you how to draw George. I just baked the cake (and cupcakes for the ears) and drew George with a toothpick. It took me forever to get the right icing color and I was starting to get frustrated. By the time I did get the right, or close enough, color I was so tired of messing with it that I wasn't the neatest about getting the cake iced. Anyway, Drew really liked it and that was all that mattered to me. When he saw it he said "George!", so I knew I had at least gotten close!

I will post some more pictures of the party later. I left the other photo cds at the store!

So I've decided to take the plunge and enter CK's Scrapbooker of the Year. I don't really think I stand a chance but I thought it was worth a shot. It's kind of bad timing with the deadline on July 6th. That doesn't leave me much time to get the rest of my entry done!

Well I'm off to get some work done! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Did you know that we did a George party last year for Madi's 2nd bday? How fun!!

George was at Silver Dollar City today... I will try to post a photo on the old blog sometime soon... it has been a month sine I have posted- need to get on the ball.

Anyway, love love love the cake. You are so talented!

And you definitely have a shot at SOY. You are right, the photo doesn't do the real page justice- it really is cute!

It was so nice to meet you face-to-faceyesterday ... sorry I had to run so quick, Madi was ready for lunch and so was I. :)

I was serious about helping you this week (even if it is Fri night, I don't have much scrapbook stuff to work on, just signed up to get out of the house!)... I am happy to help cut, sort, or just keep you company. It is nice to have a 'sitter' and get out of the house for a change of pace.

Good luck with SOY, Allison! That story about the dandelions was sooo touching! What a precious moment!
I can't wait to see the LO of the cake and party. Are you using the monkey paper that I saw in your store?

OH. I love that cake! The hubby made Ethan a lightning Mcqueen cake (Cars). He turned 2 on the 29th.

Too bad we don't live near each other we could SO have some awesome playdates.
