This weekend I finally got a start on Drew's baby album. I kept meaning to start on it but would get to busy and it just kept getting pushed back.
Thankfully Mom is helping me with my kits this month so I got to actually have a weekend instead of working! (Thanks Mom!) On Friday I decided to make the title page for Drew's baby album and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the page went together! That picture is one of my favorites of him! I took it the day we were leaving the hospital. Mike was feeding him before we left and sitting in a rocking chair beside a big window. The lighting was perfect and I ended up with so many great shots of them.

The second page is one that I had done for a class a couple of weeks ago. After I stitched the title I decided to take a little break since the stitching takes so long and to let my fingers rest. I ate a few Cheez-Its and then started working again. After a few minutes I looked down and there was a greasy Cheez-It finger print on my layout!! There was no way I was going to go back and start over. That stitching is too time consuming to do over again! I had to stretch my creative brain and find a way to cover it. Does that make me sound lazy? The circles with buttons ended up being my cover up! You can still see a little peeking out from under one of them but oh well!

Be sure to check out the Consider Yourself Challenged blog this afternoon. We will be posting the showcased layouts and the winner of the prize drawing. It was fun looking through each of the entries! You all really amazed me with your creative takes on the challenge! I'm so glad that so many joined in and I can't wait for challenge #2.

So the Scrapbooker of the Year calls should be going out sometime in the next few days. After HOF I didn't think that I would be going through this again. The torture of waiting for "the call." Jumping every time the phone rings. Checking the message boards like crazy! Thank goodness for the kit clubs to keep me busy! Still in the back of my head I keep thinking about it...just really hoping for a call but trying to not get my hopes up. (It doesn't help that this one has a trip to Las Vegas attached to it!!) I've seen some really talented people that have entered! Best of luck to everyone that entered!!

cool pages! i didn't see the cheez it spot and even looked for it. you did well covering it up! :)

i love the pic of drew coming home from the hospital. i look back at those pictures of emmarie and it seems like such a long time ago. it's so weird to admit i have a toddler now instead of a baby. i'm thankful that i have my scrapbooks, b/c i hardly remember what it was REALLY like when emmarie was that small. i have certain memories, but the day to day stuff...it's odd how quickly you forget!

Very cute pages, Allison! I like the stitched letters. I only have the template that I got at SG, for capitals and lowercase, but they are not this outline style. I remember seeing the baby pic of Drew. Did your mom also do a layout a long time ago? Good luck with the SOY contest!

Kodi I know exactly what you mean!! It was so weird to look through all of his baby pictures and then to look at him now! I can't believe how small he was! The time goes way too quickly!

Holly, thank you so much! To do those stitched letters I just traced around a set of chipboard letters and then pierced the holes. This is a big reason why I can't seem to get rid of my chipboard. I keep a tight grip on it in case I want to use it for stitching!

I had done a page with that picture before. I didn't really want to reuse the same picture but that one is my favorite and I thought it would be perfect for the title page!

I don't know why they always make us wait a few days after the winners are called. Pure torture! I hope that you got the call but if you didn't, we still love you!

I hate the waiting game!!!

Love this page. Makes me want to go back and redo all of M's baby pages.

In the last month or so, I have seen some pictures of a sweet baby not knowing who it was... just to look closer and realize it is my own child. Oh how stupid I feel when I do that.
