Watermelon.
• as seen in Creating Keepsakes magazine
Drew loves watermelon and according to him Aunt Gina's house is THE place to eat it. In the summer if we make a trip to Gina's the second he gets out of the vehicle he'll yell, "Gina, do you have watermelon?". Of course she is a wonderful aunt and always has his favorite summer snack on hand. A couple of weeks ago we bought a watermelon while out grocery shopping and Drew asked me on the way out to our car, "Mom, are we doing to Gina's to eat this watermelon?" :)
The little mini watermelon on my layout is handmade and super easy. I used three different sized circle punches to punch out the green paper and then two out of the red glitter paper. After I cut them in half and layered them with pop dots, I added black Stickles for the seeds. :)

I love this layout and the wonderful colors. Do you remember the paper line you used?
I loved this page when I saw it in the magazine. Thanks for sharing the tips for how you made the watermelon. I am interested in knowing how you glue down the transparancies (at least it looks like that).
Linda from KS
Christina, the paper is from Fancy Pants. It's one of my most favorite ever paper lines. I've already used it on three different layouts! :)
Linda, I always hide a little bit of the transparency behind something and then put my adhesive in that spot. On this layout the transparencies are peeking out from behind pictures so I put the adhesive on the part of the transparency that went behind the photo. :)
Thank you Allison! Do you know if your mom has these available in the store?
Thank
We sold out of it really fast, but I happen to have some left over from Jackson's b-day ( I used it for decorations). I'll try and get to the store tomorrow and drop it off. If you want I'll set some of it back for you. :)
Oh I don't want you to have to do that. I know you are busy with your schedule and the boys. If you do happen to drop some off I would love for you to save some back for me, but seriously it isn't a big deal.
Thanks,
Christina
It's really no problem at all! I was going to be out and about and in that area anyway. :)
I love this l/o my kids love watermelon also. I did my l/o all in green & pink it everyones favorite in that album. I've been meaning to ask you, do you take the boys to the shop when you work? I use to work at my moms video store and sometimes had to bring my kids in. I was just curious to know, my kids always had fun helping the customers and tagging the movies that were out. Hope your having a good week.
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. :) It all depends on what day and what time of day I'm there. They love being there though. Drew loves to play with the computer/cash register and the buttons. Jackson's a big fan of the paint buckets and just running around in general. I try not to take them too often though since Jackson is definitely starting to throw some tantrums! I'm sure most people would rather shop without the screaming toddler! lol :)
thanks for answering my question for me. You really are amazing the way you take care of the boys, store, scrapping ideas to share, I don't know how you do it but THANK YOU and don't STOP!!
