silver dollar city

It has become a yearly tradition to go to Silver Dollar City during the holiday season. They have what looks like a bajillion lights covering every building and tree and every which way in between...

My favorite is the Godzilla-size tree that is covered in what has to be a bajillion lights.

Oh, and that's not even the best part! Those bajillion lights are timed to fun Christmas songs. I could sit in that area and watch it over and over! If it doesn't get you in the Christmas mood, you have to be a Scrooge or a Grinch or whatever Christmas sourpuss you can think of. It's magical. Especially for the little ones.

The lights were awesome but nothing was as fun or as funny as Jackson and his first roller coaster experience. He held his hands in the air and screamed like a pro, even when they were going up the big hill very slowly.

I laughed the entire time. He loved it and talked about it for the rest of the night.

Jackson really, really enjoyed the fact that he was finally tall enough to ride the rides and Drew was happy to have a partner! They rode not just the roller coaster but also flying elephants, and the favorite...

What could possibly be better than flying around in circles in a swing? Maybe flying around in circles in a swing in a theme park at night with everything covered in Christmas lights.  Just a guess.

Grandpa update: He has good days and bad days. He was moved to a rehab facility that specializes in brain injuries and paralysis and yesterday he had his first day of rehab. I actually got to talk to him yesterday for awhile and he seemed happy to see me and recognized my name. The boys also got to talk to him but they were a little shy. It was a good day.

We made our annual Christmas visit to Silver Dollar City last Saturday. It was the perfect day to visit. Not too hot, not too cold, no wind. Just perfect. Apparently 28,496 other people though so too.

We were there on Saturday too! You're so right too, it was the perfect day to be there but goodness is was crowded!! :)

Dawn, it really is a spectacular place to go during the holiday season. :) I got so many great photos of Jackson but Drew just wasn't in a picture taking mood that day (which doesn't happen often!)

LOVE LOVE LOVE the ANGRY BIRDS hat. Priceless. Those crazy things make me smile every time I see them in the store or on someone's head. LOL.

Thanks for sharing these pictures. That's what it's all about, sista. Rock on.
