"Happy Halloween 2008"

I can't believe how little the boys are in these pictures! Drew barely came up to his dad's waist and now he is almost as tall as I am. There is also no longer a trace of the little chunky legs and cheeks that Jackson wore so cutely in those pictures! I miss those days.
This layout is based on one of my favorite sketches from the Halloween Bundle that is available as a download at the SG online store. (You can get more info by reading this post.) I think what I like so much about this particular sketch is the cluster of witch hats. They kind of remind me of Christmas trees, which I love to make, and it's not because of the obvious shape similarities. It's because of the many, many ways you can embellish them.
I used a different embellishment for each hat. For the largest I just did a strip of paper with a small twine bow on the bottom. The medium hat has an accordion folded strip with hand stitching along the edges. The smallest has a small strip with notches cut at each end with a spider brad in the center. Some other ideas would be to use twine, stickers, ribbon, border punches, rows of brads, several strip of different patterned papers, or word stickers. There are endless possibilities!

This looks great!! I was a little nervous about picking up this bundle because of the witch hats and having two boys, but this just looks wonderful! This assures me that I can definitely make this work.
