I had a few people ask some questions in the comments and I thought it would be easier to answer them here. I never know if anyone actually goes back to read the comments after I've answered! :)
Do you have any advice on choosing picture sizes?
When I'm picking out the photos I want to use on a sketch I let them (the photos) be my guide for the photo sizes. I do tend to pick the size of photo depending on the order of my favorite photo to my least favorite photo. So if there is a larger photo on the sketch I usually put my favorite picture of the bunch there. I usually save the detail or not so great photos for those small 2 x 2" photos. Also, the number of photos I want to include on a layout plays a large part in what picture sizes I use.
I love the print you use for journaling. Would you share name of front and how you cut those printed strips so straight, keeping printing distance even?
I use a font called Century Gothic. It's my absolute favorite font and I use in on almost all of my layouts!
To make journaling strips I add an extra space between each line of text. When I cut them out I don't measure or anything like that, I just eyeball it and cut. I do try to line up the top of the text with a certain line on my cutter and then when I cut the bottom line up the bottom of the text with another point on my cutter. They never end up exact and sometimes I get a wide variety of widths!
Fun idea with the planks. What did you use for the nails?
They were little metal studs from a big flourish that I messed up in an experiment with alcohol inks. They ended up being the perfect size and color for "nails" on the boards so I just cut them from the flourish and added them to my page. If those wouldn't have worked I had some really small brown brads that probably would have worked too.

I absolutely love your sketches... and your lay-outs! My question is about the photos. Do you print them at home? Or, where do you order the 2x3 size photos?

Christy, I mostly print at home. I used to print online and then pick them up at a local printing place. The 2-1/2 x 3-1/2" size is actually a "standard" wallet size and I think that most photo printing places (Walmart, Walgreens, Shutterfly, etc) offer that size. I especially love wallet size prints because they are like mini 4 x 6" photos. You can still get the whole picture, it's just in a smaller size. :)
