Page #2 of my scrappy weekend. (The only thing I don't like about this page is that there isn't a picture of Drew actually playing with Mr. Potato Head.) Friday night I worked on this page and enjoyed a nice little chat with my fellow SOY finalist Noel. The only bad thing about the two of us trying to talk and scrap at the same time... we usually end up talking more than getting pages done. Last time we talked on the phone it was for like 5 hours, possibly more! I just have to say she's really became a good friend of mine and I'm so glad that SOY gave us the opportunity to get to know each other better.

I've got a question for all you 2-page scrapbookers out there. (This includes all of you who visit here and don't leave comments!) Why do you like working with 2 pages and what is your biggest challenge when it comes to 2 page layouts? I would have to say mine is working with patterned papers. I usually come up with my photo placement, title placement and journaling placement pretty quickly but then I just sit and stare trying to figure out what to do with the patterned paper.

Ali, I just really love that you do two page layouts. I was flipping through my magazines looking for inspiration the other day and saw that I kept flagging your layouts. That is what brought me to your blog. So few published layouts are 2 pages anymore. Keep up the good work.

Love, Love, Love the potato head pics! Those are a crack up. Drew will love that (or maybe be embarassed) by that when he gets older. Funny stuff! Cute page.

I usually do two page layouts because of my pictures; the biggest thing for me is figuring what I want to do with them.

love those 2 pagers... I love the 2 pagers because there is enough room for so many more shots (I take sooooo many)... I too have issues with PP sometimes...
by the way, i was working on my hof entry last night, and thought of you as I did my very first handstitching :)

Hi, Ali. I don't usually comment, sorry :( I do mostly two pagers unless it is a page I want to frame or give as a gift I like two page layouts because it feels more "roomy" and I seem to be able to fit a few pics and journaling and a good title all in one layout. The challenge for me is the symmetrical/perfectionist problem and the challenge of not covering up all of the patterned paper, haha!

Hey did you see your potato friend was the featured page yesterday? I am currently working on a 2 pager, you inspired me with this one... I'll show you when it is done!

I had a hard time too with patterned paper until I read Ali Edwards Designer Eye for Scrapbooking with Patterened Paper. It has really helped me put my 2 pagers together. I struggle with my journaling.

Delurking! Hi Ali! I love doing 2 page LOs. First, I like for facing pages to match mostly. Second, I like 2 pgrs because it gives me room to use BIG letters, BIG embellishments and lots of pictures/journaling if I want to. Sometimes on 1 pg LOs I feel resctricted to only use one photo, and that is pretty limiting in some instances.

LOVE Mr. Potato Head!

I'm strickly a two-pager kinda girl...I want to venture out but it's so scary!!

To me, it just seems to flow better in the album when the pages go together! BUT earlier this week I did a one-pager for my HOF portfolio...Felt very odd though...I was like "What?!? I'm done?? What about the rest of it?!?!"

And yes, I agree with you...The patterned paper is the trickiest part for me too!

Ali, my reason for two page layouts is simply more pictures fit. I take so many and have the hardest time distinguishing what I should use. So I like the double layout format.

I also like the way an album flows when the layouts are two page rather than one.

Allison,
Do you care if I scraplift your title? I just love it! I have some awesome pics of my nephews wearing the Mr. Potato Head glasses!!
As for the reason for 2 pagers, definitely more pics. I tend to use single page LOs when I have one pic to emphasize.

Super cute page Ali!! I do mostly two pagers just becuase I always seem to have tons of pictures. I like more space to design and embellish.

Noel is fun isn't she. Love you girls.
