Taking a break...kind of

So it's time for me to take a little break from the page a day fun. Time has been flying by and the other day I looked over my calendar to see about any upcoming must do things. I didn't realize it was getting so close to my weekend at CKC in Tulsa where I'll be teaching five different classes. I can't believe that it's only a week away! I had to put a stop to the page a day so I could prepare for everything. I'm sure when I get back I'll pick it up again.

I don't have my latest pages to post yet but I'll get them up soon. I do have pictures of the mini-album for one of the classes that I will be teaching at Scrapbook Generation's fall retreat in Branson. This might actually be the most important scrappy thing I've ever made. It's my "Just In Case" album. Each page is actually an envelope and each envelope is for a different person that has played a huge part in my life. In each envelope is a letter to that person. Each letter is for the things that I might not say everyday or show everyday but what I definitely feel for that person. It's my just in case something ever happened to me album.

This is a little sample of the pages inside. I think there are actually ten pages total.

This album was perfect for me because I'm horrible about expressing my feelings. For some reason I'm much more comfortable writing it down.

I also wanted to include this picture...

I had bought these shirts right before Jackson was born. I was so excited that he was finally big enough to wear his. I think I ended up taking a million pictures. Mom had to hold both of them and Stacey stood behind me and danced a jig or something like that to make Drew laugh. It was quite the little production.

I almost forgot...the shirt with the felt crown survived our washer and dryer with flying colors. Looks as good as new! :) I'm actually surprised. Our washer has to be older than me. All clothes are lucky to survive!

Hey Ali! It's been a while since I've commented on your blog. I use reader now and hardly ever comment anywhere! (gotta change that.)

Anyway, I just had to pop on to say I love that mini album. It's a great idea and important to boot.

I've really been enjoying your page a day. Great job!

Ali,
I saw this post yesterday and loved your album! I wrote it down on my list of things to do next weekend at this scrapbook retreat I'm going to. Today, I found out one of the girls who works at the same hospital as me died about a week ago. She left behind a 14 month old and a 7 DAY OLD baby!! My heart breaks for those babies everytime I think about it. It just reminds me how qucik life can change and just gives me ALL THE MORE reason to create a "just in case" album. Thanks for the inspiration!

I forgot to ask you what type of envelopes did you use and where did you get them from?

How sad for those babies to grow up w/o their mother and to be young enough that they won't remember her! It's my own fear of that happening to myself that made me come up with the album.

The album came like that. I'm pretty sure it's 7Gypsies. I thought it was the coolest thing that it came with envelope pages! :)

Thanks! I will have to go look for one now! If I can't find one I may just have to use my trusty Bind It All!

I love that Just In Case album, what a GREAT idea. My mom passed away last year and I would have loved to have something like that from her.
