The start of a new week.

The foam stamping week has come to an end but it's definitely not an end to using them. I had forgotten about a lot of the stamps that I had so digging through them was kind of fun. Kind of like when you find a ten dollar bill in your pocket that you didn't know was there. Love it when that happens!

Friday

One thing I've noticed about all of my pages in today's post is that I didn't use a whole lot of patterned papers. I tend to do that a lot. It kind of makes me kick myself a little for buying so much paper when a lot of the time I only use a little strip here or there.

Saturday

I'm beginning to think that Christmas trees can be made with anything! On this page I used a diamond shaped foam stamp to create the tree. (I completely lifted this idea from my mom and after she reads this I'll never hear the end of it! We are always "competing" with our kit clubs.) After I had the diamonds stamped I added stitching and buttons to complete the design.

Now it's on to a new week and a new challenge!

The winner of the foam stamp and paint giveaway is Trishamaus2005. Email me (alidavis1919@hotmail.com) your address. :)

Week #3 - Bare Chipboard
I probably have more chipboard than I do anything else. I actually do use it a lot so I don't feel so bad about having so much.

Sunday

On this page the three smaller hearts, "MOM", "LOVE" and the heart with the flourish are all chipboard. On the "Love" piece I covered it with patterned paper and then on the rest I just added paint and added them to the layout. Nothing fancy and super easy. I also cut a piece of striped paper to go behind the heart with the flourish.

This week the giveaway is... you guessed it! Chipboard! (and a lot of it!) Scenic Route, Prima, BasicGrey, Bazzill and Fancy Pants.

I'm so glad to hear that so many of you are joining in on the page a day/use your stash challenge! I think the thing I love most about doing a page a day is that I don't waste time. I get in there and get it done!

I used my foam stamps 3 times last week. Thanks. I get in a "routine" and stop going to look and see what all I really do have.
I LOVE chipboard and would LOVE to win that.
Have a great day.

How did you make the words in the pink heart - it was neat!

I love all the trees you have been making. They really inspire me. And that is alot of chipboard. Thanks for the chance to win.

Penny, to make the heart shape I penciled in my journaling and then I used a heart shape and traced it onto the journaling. After that I went over the penciled journaling inside the heart shape with a red pen and over the journaling on the outside with a brown pen. :)

Allison,
Another great layout. I always look forward to the part of my day that I can check out your blog and see all the new pages-and inspiration! It's funny, I was the "mom" type before kids, but was still amazed at how it can change you in the most unexpected ways--each day is full of pleasant surprises. I love the pg a day and the giveaways are an added bonus!!

I love how you can take a CS, add just a little pp and your embellishments and have a spectacular LO. Cute tree and I love the word LOVE covered in that pp. Adorable pictures say it all.

If you have a cuttlebug chipboard is fun to emboss too!! :-) Lighter chipboard works a bit better than the heavier stuff ...

How can anyone possibly have too much chipboard?!!!

Ali,

Just organized my stash and scrapbooking nook to get ready for our Thanksgiving house guests. And yep, I've got WAY too much stuff that's not being put to good use. I'm so inspired by your LOs and this challenge - I can't wait to get cranking after the holidays. Thanks too for the added bonus of fun giveaways!

The chipboard looks yummy! could definitely do with a delish stash like that :o)

By the way THANX! Your page a day has been an endless source of inspiration. I have to ask though what your secret is to getting them done with two little ones???

Diana said...

Just want to say I love your layouts. I scraplifted one: http://wickysticket.blogspot.com/2008/10/two-takes.html
It's one of my favourites.
That's all!

Thta's some great chipbpard over there!

I love working with chipboard, too, but I've not tried to put paper on them. What adhesive do you use for them and do you use an exacto blade? It looks difficult so I've always used ink or glimmer mist.
Thanks for the chance to win, though my husband might steal some if I do.

Allison Davis said...

Before I had used an exacto knife but I just never really got the hang of it. Now I trace the chipboard (backwards) onto the back of a piece of patterned paper and then cut it out. The paper usually ends up being a little bigger than the chipboard so I go over the edges with a nail file or if it's got hard to reach areas I use a little piece of sandpaper. Hope that helps! :)

I love the non-traditional Christmas colors used on your tree-how fantastic! For the star on top, did you use a punch or die cutting machine? I love that off-kilter look and 2 instead of one-simply wonderful!

Allison Davis said...

Thank you so much! :) Both of the stars are chipboard from Fancy Pants.

I love your blog. I just found it! I love the ideas that you have here!!! Thank you for sharing.

Just wanted to say thanks for posting your layouts. I only recently found your blog and I love that you post double 12x12 layouts with 4x6 pictures. Yes I love all those beautiful one page layouts in mags but that's not what I what I scrap most of the time. It's usually the 12x12 2 pagers and it's so hard to find good examples using 4x6 pics to scraplift. So thank you so much for sharing yours!
