A New, New Revision of the Redo Sneak Peak.

That title might be a little confusing so I'll just show you and then explain after.

Now do you get it? We've made a new, new (new twice since this is the second one) revision of the redo (the original "new" cover) for our Sketches for Scrapbooking series. Why you might ask? Because sometimes we can be a little picky and with this we knew we could do better. It was one of those things where we just weren't really thinking about all the possibilities. We were thinking small when we should have been thinking big.

This cover is for Volume 6 with the other volumes following the same format and each featuring a different color and a different layout from a sketch in the sketch book.

I can't even begin to explain how excited I am to attend CHA with our new division of Scrapbook Generation, Scrapbook Generation Publishing. In one way I'm surprised that this is the turn our company has taken and in another way I'm not at all. This is the kind of thing that just happens to be completely comfortable to us. It kind of feels like we have returned home to our design, writing, publishing type of roots.

It feels good to be back home. :)

It looks great! I am so excited and happy for you and the rest of your family at the store. You guys have worked really hard and deserve the success.

Two things...Have you considered putting in color examples (photos) of layouts for each sketch?

Any news on the DVD? :)

Good luck with everything!

I think we had an opportunity to pre-order? Right? If not, count me in.....

Amy from KC, I doubt that we will ever include layout examples in the sketch books. We feel that having just the sketch without examples is what makes them so easy to use. A lot of people seem to like it that way. However, don't count out a full color idea book based on the sketches...:)

As for the DVD, I have no idea. I wish I had a better answer but we aren't getting any answers ourselves. I wish I knew what was going on with it. A little lesson, never trust anyone on just their word! Research! Research! Research! lol! :)

I LOVE all the sketch books. I'm sure this one will not disappoint!

I love the sketch books, and have all of them. I was just thinking of how fun sketch week is each month, and how that might translate into the books themselves. I always get such good ideas from seeing how you choose to use different materials/ products. I'd buy pretty much any publication that you guys produced. :)

I'm so sorry to hear about the DVD. I'm sure that there is a long story there, but I hope that everything works out in the end. It's just awful when bad things happen to good people. ( Not that I wish bad things on anyone.)

I'm trying to stay as positive as possible about the DVD and am hoping that it's going to be worth the wait. We've got a deadline set up at this moment of a finished product but I'm hesitant to even say when because of how many times that deadline has been missed. It's such a scary process to have so much of it out of our hands. Our family and our business is always striving for "we'll have it when we say" so it's been soooo frustrating! I have to say that I'm amazed at the patience of everyone. I keep waiting for people to start getting frustrated with us but everyone has been so supportive and understanding. :)

I love your new sketch book cover!! The color and layout just jumps out at you! I was going to ask about the dvd also, can't wait to see it. I'm so sorry your having a hard time getting it finalized. We are all patient don't worry about that. I'm worried because in July we are going on vacation and I don't want to miss that phone call saying it's in, so please don't give up on me I WANT ONE EVEN IF I DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE!!! Thanks again for all you do for us.

I forgot to say that I did 5 layouts this week using your sketches and I have a few more planned this week. your sketch books are so helpful and fun to use. Is the new sketchbook 6 going to cost more because I do want to order it??

The book looks GORGEOUS!! Are you redoing the covers from previous volumes or from #6 on? Just wondering if you are redoing the previous ones if there will be a price increase. They ARE worth every penny!!

I cannot wait for vol 6! I am new to your sketch books and can't believe how they have helped when my mojo needs a boost. Can I preorder vol 6? How? I am so excited to get it in my hot little hands.

Great success to you in the future.

What is Shimmerz paint. I have since it referenced a couple of times on your blog/SG blog.

Allison Davis said...

Shimmerz paint is, what I can describe best, a shimmery glaze. It comes in about every color possible and has such a pretty sparkle to it. It's quick drying and can be used in a lot of different ways and on different types of surfaces. It is really a great product in my opinion! :)

Congratulations on the 'new' sketch book design! I CANNOT WAIT to get Vol.6 (and Vol. 1 to complete the collection).

One suggestion - if you haven't already thought of it: would it be possible to number the pages? I went through and numbered mine myself so I can reference a specific volume and page#. As I'm getting organized and planning LOs with specific sketches, I'm keeping a running list of the sketch, photos and papers/color scheme I want to use. I guess that is leading me to put together little page kits.

I fear that I might go completely OCD and set some crazy goal like doing one LO for each sketch... but it hasn't gotten to that point yet! :) Please send help if it does!! :O
