Yo, yo, yo! Merry Christmas!

Sometimes it's not exactly the picture you are looking for that makes you laugh the hardest.

The boys were hanging around the Christmas tree talking about what ornaments were their favorites. Talking mostly consisted of Drew telling me his favorite and Jackson yelling, "Nooooo! That mine!"

I grabbed my camera in hopes to catch a sweet picture of the boys looking at the tree. I swear the boys are equipped with some sort of sixth sense. A Mom's-got-the-camera type of sixth sense. Clearly, my camera was not welcome...

Instead of that sweet moment I got something that ended up looking more like a picture from a hip hop album. I couldn't help but to giggle when I was downloading my pictures and saw this one. I was so tempted to use this as our Christmas card picture with some cheesy line like "Yo, Yo, Yo. Merry Christmas!" but figured our grandparents probably wouldn't understand what in the world it meant. (I spent at least an hour trying to explain what our sketch books where to my Grandpa and I'm almost certain that he still thinks they are coloring books for scrapbookers.)

This picture might not make it on our cards but it is definitely going to be one of my favorites this year.

Thank you for such a great laugh this morning!! I love love this picture and you are right about the yo yo yo Merry Christmas saying, it fits them perfectly. They look so big and such boys. I don't think grandparents would like it though, you could send out two versions for some laughs. Thanks for sharing.

Cute picture! lol! That's a great idea for a Christmas card. I know what you mean because my mom still gets that deer-in-the-headlights look when I mention my Cricut. She still doesn't know what it is and looks even more confused if I say I use for scrapbooking. And forget about sending an e-mail to some of my relatives... even though they have a computer. lol!

Aunt Gina loves this... and you are right. The grandma's would be thinking that you were just making spelling errors. I am still trying to explain Facebook to MeeMee.

Absolutely hilarious! I needed that laugh. Love the picture and your assessment of it is perfect (BWA - Boys With Attitudes). I laughed out loud at the coloring book comment (coworkers probably think I'm nuts). Funny thing is that it sort of made me want to grab a fresh box of 64 Crayola and get to work! :)

Too funny.

Hilarious stories; thanks for sharing. You may not have gotten the shot you were hoping for, but I think you got a priceless picture just the same. YO YO YO!

P.s. I just got around 100 pictures and a bunch of newpaper articles from a friend who wants me to scrap her soon-to-be-son-in-law's first year of college football. She wants it by CHRISTMAS! YIKES. I decided I'm gonna go with YOUR SKETCHES. You're a lifesaver! LOL

Allison, I have to agree, I would send this photo with your card. The grandparents would just love another pic of your boys. I told my mom about the sketches and the creative team, and she doesn't get it either. But she is proud of me nonetheless.

FUNNY! My daughter had a sixth sense about my camera when she was in high school. EVERY picture I have of her during that time is either of the back of her head or her hands over her face! Little darling.

That is just hilarious! Love the sentiment you would have used with the photo on your card. I still think you should have used it. ;)

Great Picture!

I've been trying to order a sketchbook from the link on the blog and keep getting an error message for the last few days. How can I order one with the free shipping?

Thanks!
