It's that time.

 •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Scrap-a-Palooza time, that is.

Just as the last little bit of pain left over from our move at Scrapbook Generation is gone we're doing it all over again. Pretty much, anyway. At 'Palooza we have a fully stocked store including the bajillions of products that mom ordered to debut at the event. (What you're seeing below is a very small portion of the on site store.)

It really is like moving all over again. Except this time we get to move it one day, and then move it back the next. This week, the week before 'Palooza, is what I like to call crazy week.  Anyone who ever thought that putting together an event like this is easy, well, to put in nicely, is insane.

Yesterday, Karin, Mom, and Stacey were in 'Palooza mode and entering our shopping addict's loot into our computer system.

I've opted to stay away from this part largly because it's all new product and I'm easily distract by shiny things and pretty paper. I'm kidding, kind of. I spend my time this week getting my classes together, preparing the demos, and working on the free class for all 280 people.

For the demos and the free class I teach them in front of a video camera while everyone watches on the huge screen.

I still remember when Mom volunteered me to do this for the first 'Palooza. "Oh yeah. I forgot to tell you. You're going to teach demos on a big screen in front of all 250 people." I was terrified. Now I feel like I've got the hang of it and don't even get nervous for it. Crazy, considering I can be incredibly shy. A couple of 'Paloozas ago an old high school friend was there and told me, "I never in a million years would imagine that you would get up in front of that many people." Me too. If you have never tried public speaking I encourage you to do it. What a rush! I'm not an adrenaline junkie by any means and we're not talking sky diving but it sure does make the heart pump.

'Palooza really is a fun event for us at SG. It's been exciting to watch it grow each time and see it turn into the awesome event that it is. Even if I'm so tired right now I'm not sure what day of the week it is, I'm looking forward to it.

I'm incredibly shy myself and can't stand speaking in front of people. I had to do a presentation once in front of 100 strangers.. not sure how I survived it.. but good for you to keep it at!

Wow...that looks and sounds like a lot of fun....and a lot of work for you! I'll have to google it, I remember something about it from last year and wanting to go, but for some reason it has all slipped my mind now!

aside from all the hard work, it looks like it's a blast! There is no fun scrappy events in NJ that I know of, well except for a small show in May (yet to go, no $ & it will be far to tempting)

Best of luck with all your preparations, that photo of the stack of boxes is pretty hilarious. As customers, I guess we don't think about what happens on the retail side. BTW, I just signed up for a Nikki Silvis class here in California for when she is in town for CHA. I know it will all work out.

Kim, what is going on in Orlando in April, if you don't mind me asking? We only do 'Palooza here in Springfield. :)

Michelle, you will have a blast with Nikki. She is so incredibly awesome and just a fun person to be around. We always love having her at events.

Hi Allison,

I so wish to be there and take your classes. I'm sure your a natural speaker by now, I'd be nervous also. It always looks so fun to see these pictures and so nice of you and your family to put all that hard work into it for us. One day I will make it to one. Have fun.

I think half the battle of speaking in public is knowing your subject matter. You know scrapbooking inside and out so you will do a great job.

Hope everyone is healthy and the weather is good on Saturday.

Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!

I so wish that we could attend. My daughter is turning 19 in February and her birthday wish is to take a trip to your store and scrapbook for the weekend.

I had to tell her that it is a 15 hour drive and by the time we got there we would have to turn around and head back.

Hopefully one day we will come for a visit.

Allison, you have always done an amazing job teaching in front of all of us. Keep up the good work! See you Saturday!

Carolyn, you should come to the June Palooza. We would love to finally meet you in person and your daughter.

Linda, I couldn't agree more. It's easy when you are talking about something you love and know about. No worries about awkward silences or anything like that. :)

Carolyn, you and your daughter definitely have to make the trip sometime! :)

Thank you Dawn and Christina! :)
