The Fourth

This year we celebrated the fourth not one, not two, not three, but four times. It was hot, it was chaotic, it was loud, and it was fun.

Block parties, inflatable water slides, Stacey's awesome twice baked potatoes, tons of games of "bags", watermelon, fireworks, 400 mini-cupcakes, family BBQs, two town firework shows, sparklers, good company, one nasty storm, lots of giggles, an up until 5 a.m. conversation with my sister, the annual flag run, our neighborhood sky lit up with fireworks, and a great time.

It reminded me of why the fourth will always be my favorite holiday. Independence is a great thing and I am so thankful to have it. And what better way to spend it then with the ones I love!

Thank you Lynette! I actually took that one "blind" by setting my camera on the ground and pushing the button. :)

Dawn, yes I did! I might have went a little overboard but I can't seem to help myself! I made four different flavors and each one makes about 100ish. :)

Dolly, I love that one too! It's not often I get pictures of them doing that! :)

Wow! Sounds like a great time! Canada Day is a big thing up here too (July 1st) but it sounds like you put us to shame!

Michelle, the more the merrier! Don't you love getting great photos of sparkler action! Those can turn out to be the most fun photos! :)

Jennifer, we tend to overdo the 4th. It's just so darn fun! Hope your Canada Day was great! :)

Penny, thank you! :)

Allison, I think it's great you did all those cupcakes. You never did let us know how you did a little while ago at selling them at a food market, how did it go??? It's always great to see your photos.

We kind of gave up on the whole Farmer's Market thing. I just never could find the time to do it. It seemed like every week something got in the way: rain, vacation, work, etc. I still want to do it I just don't think that time is going to allow it. For right now I'm just enjoying making them for silly reasons and experimenting with new flavors! :)
