My Memories Suite and a giveaway

When we first started creating sketches for our store and then for our Sketches for Scrapbooking books I didn't have any part in the actual creating of the computer generated sketch. My job was to make the layouts and then my mom was the one who constructed them on the computer. After Sketch Week started on my blog I thought it would be easier, for both Mom and I, for me to learn how to make them myself. Boy did that open a whole new door of fun! I found that I love to design things digitally.

Then I was introduced to My Memories Suite, a software for digital scrapbooking, and my interest in digital design was taken to a new level.

• One, because the software was so easy to use. My Memories Suite was perfect for me because it's all presented in such an easy to use format.

• Two, because there are some really cool features. You can make whatever your creative mind comes up with and you can even add music, audio, and video to your creations. I spent almost two days just playing around with the features and exploring what all you can do.

• Three, because they have so many awesome digital kits. Their store www.mymemories.com has tons of great digital kits and elements.

I used the software to create a collage of pictures from our recent trip to the beach. I have a ton of from that day. The boys were having so much fun and I wanted to capture as many of those moments as I could. I could not stop taking pictures! Like over 800 pictures. And in those 800 pictures I have so many great ones that I've been dying to display in our house somewhere.

My Memories Studio software, Water Fun digital kit by Lindsay Jane, and Water Fun Scatterz digital kit by Lindsay Jane

This is were My Memories Suite came to save the day. I used a digital kit and the software to add fun touches to my favorites pictures from that day and displayed them in a collage on a wall in our living room.

I used the Water Fun digital kits (which was perfect for beach pictures) to add the digital elements to my pictures. The pictures were full of mostly the same neutral colors and this was an easy way for me to add some colors to them.

For quite some time I've really wanted to try an idea I had as an alternative to framing pictures. I wanted to completely cover a wall in our house with pictures but didn't want to get into the cost of framing each of them. Instead, I adhered the photos to a sheet of foam board and cut around them with a craft knife. To adhere them to the wall, I used Command Poster Strips. I love the way they almost look like they are floating on the wall.

I've got many more favorite pictures I want to add to this collage and we'll eventually end up with a wall covered in memories of such a fun day! The boys still say that the beach was their favorite part of our vacation (even over Disney!) and they were so happy to see these pictures displayed in our house.

Now for the giveaway part...

Today, I'm going to share the fun of this digital software with you! I'll be giving away the My Memories Suite software to one of my readers! To be eligible, visit www.mymemories.com and then leave me a comment telling me which digital kit is your favorite. I'll randomly select a comment and announce the winner on Friday.

I've also got a coupon code to share with my readers who would like to purchase the My Memories Suite software. All you have to do is copy and paste the code STMMMS32166 when you check out for $10 off!

What an amazing collage! I love it! I have a huge blank wall that I have been trying to come up with something to put on it. This might be it.

My favorite kit is the Boyish one. I love Boy kits that are not "little boys" kits.

So many designs! Hard to choose just one!! My top three are "wheelies" "trouble maker" and "love birds".

The wall collage looks great. I've been wanting to do one myself, but can't find a blank wall.

Your collage is beautiful, love love these photos you used. What a great way to remember the trip. It's funny that even in a big exciting place the kids always like the little simple things (like the beach)

I love your theme and also the beautiful blossoms for my girls room. Thanks so much for this link, never heard of them and it looks so cool.

I liked the Keep It Simple Word Art. Will look further into this. Does it also allow youto print pictures at different sizes (3x3, etc?)

Looking at all of the digi kits was fun and very hard to pick just one but I have to go with "Time 4 Family" Pack. Love your collage & it gave me some ideas for my walls that need some sprucing up.

Wow. I love what you added to the pictures. I have been scared of digital scrapping, but this looks like it could be easy and fun. I would love to learn how to add some fun words etc. to my own pics.

Luv2talk, you crack me up! Trust me I'll never go fully to the "dark side". I love my paper too much! :)

jackie, I didn't do anything to it other than cut it with an exacto knife. Because foam is so thick I didn't try to cut through it in one cut. Instead I would cut through it about half way and then go over that cut again. I wanted to make sure the edges were clean and not jagged so multiple cuts seemed like the best option. However, the great thing about foam board is that if you get a little bit of uneven or jagged edges it sands down really well! :)

Amy from KC, Congratulations! That is so awesome!! :)

Penny Peck, it does! You can create collages of photos (or just do individual) and then print them in any size you want. :)

Thank you everyone for the compliments and you all picked a lot of my favorites too! I really, really love the Boyish one too! :)
