Don't touch the pillows!

You would think that my mom would have learned by now that if you tell us, and by us I mean everyone in the family, not to touch/do/say something, chances are we are going to do it. And, not just do it, but do it times twenty. This doesn't work well in Mom's home because she has some interesting rules. I won't even begin to tell you about the french doors to the master suite. Let's just say that at least now I have a better understanding of where my OCD tendencies come from.

These rules and the events that we break them at usually result it extreme laughter, especially between me, Karin, Stacey, Jeremy, and Mike while Mom purses her lips in an almost smirk and projects "the look" at us. (I think "the look" is actually her trying to keep herself from laughing. Like she doesn't want us to see that she thinks it's funny too.)

The latest of these included her new red beaded pillows on her couch. We were given very detailed instructions that if we were to sit on the new couch that these special red pillows would need to be placed gently on the ottoman and were not to be touched anymore than necessary to do that very thing.

Of course, as soon as she left the room to finish lunch, we did exactly what she told us not to...

I have a feeling that Jeremy is going to be in the most amount of trouble after Mom reads this!

P.S. Hi Mom! Yes we do this stuff often, which I'm sure you know, especially now. Usually there isn't photographic evidence. We all love you and without your "house rules" we wouldn't have near as much fun together as a family!

Okay -- I truly LAUGHED OUT LOUD when I saw these photos! So cute, and so nice of Karin and Stacey to be dressed in colors to coordinate with my new living room decor! -- MOM

That is hilarious! I do the same thing to my grown adult children, they are not allowed to touch or use the pillows on my couch, they are for "looks" only, so I can totally relate to your mom! You naughty people, lol! My kids thought it would be fun the other day to move my knick knacks around in my living room to see if I noticed, ha! Didn't take long for me to spot that. Maybe we aren't OCD but just very neat.

So funny..I wondered what your Mom was going to say...ha! Looks like she took all in stride and laughed too- way to go Mom!

You all are SO much like my family. We do the same tihng with my Mom and her 'dollhouse' that she has been working on for years. Every time we visit, we move the furniture/items from one room to another. After a few times- she caught on, and now looks when we leave to see what we did...Hilarious.

It is always the little things that bring such joy...ha..ha!
