Jackson Goes to School

Last year I had decided that I wanted Jackson at home with me instead of going to daycare/preschool. (More details about it in this post.) It was the last opportunity I had to spend some time with him before he begins Kindergarten in the fall. I'm so not ready for that by the way!

Jackson and I have had a great time at home together and I'm so sad to see that coming to an end. He started half days of preschool last month to help prepare him for the big K. Kindergarten. Geez, where did the time go? Where did the last year go?

At least I'm still getting half a day with him and I have to admit it's pretty darn cute to hear his tales of the day from school.  You know, those stories of who called who a poopy head on the playground.

The part that I'm dreading the most about Kindergarten, besides the obvious, is that he will begin to change, little by little. Not that change is a bad thing but you start to see the personality of those that he is friends with come out. Sometimes it's a good thing and sometimes it can be horrible (we've went through that a little with Drew this year.) Jackson is so incredibly sweet, caring, and innocent and I don't want to see that go away.

I'm so not ready for Kindergarten.

I'm going to make the best of the next few months and enjoying my half days of alone time with Jackson.

I'm not ready for Kindergarten either but DD starts this year...She is a late four come Sept. so I could wait until the following year-but that would be selfish on my behalf because she is totally ready to learn, so I have to let her go. Makes me sad too so come Sept. we can console each other Ali!

We will have to do that! I got a little teary today after we made a visit to Drew's school, which is where Jackson will go. I kept trying to picture him at that school and all I could see was my little baby! I'm so not ready for this! :)

Yes, it's so hard! My Gavin will too start kindgergarten in the fall as well. He'll turn 5 in just two more months! I can't believe how fast it's gone. At least we've enjoyed every moment (even when we are going crazy with them) and we've taken tons of photos to document each moment, phase, look, etc.

I love the sweet innocence and don't want Gavin to change!
