Sketch Week - Wrap Up

I think one thing I showed during May sketch week is that you can definitely get multiple layouts out of one sketch. I was a little skeptical thinking that I could actually get that many out of one sketch but really it wasn't difficult. Just a few simple changes here and there.

Here is a look at all ten of them together. It's fun to see them all and how different, yet similar they look.

The sketch, from Sketches for Scrapbooking, Volume 6 (available July 1)

Layout #1 - Reckless Driver

Layout #2 - Puppy Love

Layout #3 - Taking the Wheel

Layout #4 - Now You Look at the Camera?

Layout #5 - Freedom

Layout #6 - Crayola Cafe

Layout #7 - Shooting Practice

Layout #8 - My Sunshine

Layout #9 - Our Day

Layout #10 - Splash Ready

I love the details you add when explaining, such as using glimmer mist on the flowers. They look great! Also the brads along the strip are so subtle looking and yet really look good. Thank you for all the inspiration!

Robin, email me at alidavis1919@hotmail.com with your shipping information and which volume of Sketches for Scrapbooking you would like.

June Sketch Week will be here before you know it! It will start on Monday, June 7. I've already starting looking through each volume and seeing if any of the sketches are calling out to me. If you have a sketch from any of our books that you would like to see me use whether it's one you love or one you have trouble visualizing as a layout, feel free to let me know. You can either email me suggestions or post it in the comments.

Hi Allison,

Thanks again for such a fun sketch week, I loved having 2 sketches a day. I'm not sure about a sketch yet for next month buy I did have one small request for next month, if you could use word stickers on a couple layouts. I have tons of word stickes (my favorite supply) and neeed new fresh ideas on using them. Also, do you think you could do a post not layout about YOU. I'm sure we'd all love to know more about you, your favorite things, where you find inspiration, etc. what do you think? Thanks for visiting my blog, I really enjoyed making the layouts. Have a great week.

Congratulations Robin W. on winning!!

Congrats to all the winners. I enjoyed all the sketches this week. Thanks for the hard work on putting it all together for us. After looking at them all together besides the cute photos the varying fonts for the titles is really what grabs me. I don't do this often enough but it really makes them stand out. I need to do this more! Thanks for all the inspiration. I will be looking forward to next sketch week.

Thanks Ali! When will all the Sketch books be professionally bound instead of spiral bound?

Sketch weeks are the best! Something to look forward to everyday. I 'lifted' SPLASH READY over the weekend. THanks again for the endless inspiration.

Dawn and Lisa and Eddy, if you've got some questions you want me to answer in a future post send them my way. I'll see what I can work up! :)

taxded-baby, they will always stay spiral bound but it will be done by the printer instead of us. We have found that people really like the spiral binding because the books lay flat when opened. The first book that will be available as the new professionally printed version will be Volume 6 on July 1. Volumes 1-5 will be available August 1, after CHA. :)

Luv2talk, you are quick! :)

thank you Allison, will start thinking of some questions. One for sure is where do you get your inspiration, do you look read decorting magazines, colors at your store maybe, let us know and do you read blogs, if so what ones?

Allison, When will your DVD be available? Also, Will the price on the sketch books go up in price, since they are being professionally printed?

Just when I thought your layouts couldn't get any better, you pull off another amazing sketch week that blows our minds. Your layouts are getting more polished each and every month...And look at how many memories of your family you are recording for the future. Great Job!

Shari, I'm not sure on the DVD. I don't know how many times I've given a date and then that date goes by without a DVD. I wish I had a better answer for you!! :) We are trying to work out all the teeny, tiny details so that it's perfect and exactly what we want. I'm sorry it's taken a lot longer than what we had originally said but hopefully everyone will be really pleased with it! :)

The price of the sketch books will go up a little bit but it shouldn't be any different than the price it is when we ship them. We are hoping that everyone will have a place nearby to purchase them!
