A rainy Easter

I am beginning to wonder if we are ever going to have another beautiful, sunny, perfect temperature Easter Sunday again. The last one we had was on Drew's first Easter, five years ago. We spent the whole day spread out on a blanket in the shade. We were entertained by Stacey's unsuccessful attempts at flying a kite, Drew's sweet little smiles and giggles, and the shocker of all shockers, Grandma Mary Lou letting her hair blow in the wind. It was the perfect day.

This year we had rain. Lots and lots of rain.

So this year we did indoor Easter egg hunts with our traditional egg hider Karin, learned that Grandma Debbie has a house-wide ban on artificial grass, and found that chocolate bunnies taste just as good in dreary weather as they do in sunny.

The boys had fun exploring and got a kick out of looking at all the pictures Grandma Debbie has around her house. Jackson gets confused a lot when he sees pictures of me as a baby and thinks it's himself. Drew saw my wedding pictures and is convinced that I'm a princess and insisted that we immediately go home and get my tiara. I was happy to discover that Mom's red "reading nook" room is fun for taking pictures of the boys.

Despite the gloomy, wet weather it was a great Easter!

I love that first photo also. What a cool reading nook to have, love that it's red. Sorry to hear about your rainy Easter, ours was slighly rainy too. The day before though was so beautiful and we enjoyed being outdoors all day. I remember a few Easter's ago we had to hide the eggs in the snow and the kids loved it. I think it's been awhile since you've been to my blog you can see our weekend pictures I just posted, the link is http://everydaymemorieswithprojectlife.blogspot.com Thanks for sharing your cute kids with us.

p.s. We went to a cupcake/arcade place last week and their cupcakes don't hold a candle to yours. Was kinda sad actually, they didn't look yummy like yours. Have a good Wednesday!!

I agree, our Spring weather has not been the best. Our Easter here in Canada was not much better. We made the best of it as well.

Love your photos. I wish I had a red reading nook!

Happy Easter Allison!

helena, thank you! It was my favorite picture of the day!

Lisa, isn't it funny! Which I can see how Jackson would be confused since he looks exactly like I did at that age!

Dawn, that made me smile! I'm actually going to attempt to sell cupcakes at one of our local farmer's market. I've got my fingers crossed that it goes well. My husband really, really wants us to open a bakery.

Carolyn, I think Mom's reading nook room is the coolest one in her house and it's the smallest room by far. It's a teeny tiny room with book shelves and the bench the boys are sitting on. I love it! :)

Allison, I'm so excited for your newest adventure in cupcake land. I will cross my fingers for you too but I don't think you need to worry. Just seeing those yummy cupcakes made by you a sweet, fun, loving, nice, crafty girl like you will make them sellout in no time. How fun if you opened up a bakery right next door to your family scrapshop, best of both worlds. My husband wants us to open a sandwhich shop, we always play around with names for it and the kids have all picked out their jobs and what sandwhiches they will make. It is fun to dream like this and imagining having our own shop. Good luck and let us know how it goes. By the way where do you find the time to bake in your already busy world?? Thanks for all you do.

Love the reading nook room, the boys must love having stories with Grandma there! Ali, I can'[t imagine how you will fit a cupcake business into your busy life, but I wish much success. (Is it selfish of me that I don't want you to spend less time on your scrapbooking and sketch support site? I know it is, and I really hope that the cupcake business works out for you. I'm just sayin' don't forget you are a scrapping genius, and the scrapworld is a better place with you in it.)

He wants you to 'open a bakery'...what, in your 'spare' time? LOL!

Great pictures. Mine never quite turn out like that. LOL

Such cute photos of your boys. Your comment about your thinking you are a princess because of your tiara made me laugh out loud because I thought that was so sweet. With the royal wedding coming up, I was thinking earlier today, that I wished I had the tiara, my Mom's, that I wore on my wedding day because I would wear it around the house all day. Sounds silly, I know, but it's fun and I think my girls would get a good giggle out of it.

Those where almost my exact words! lol!

And don't worry guys, I would never let cupcakes replace my scrapbooking! The market is fairly small and I'm thinking it probably won't do me much good, I just thought it would be fun! (and give me a great excuse to make cupcakes more often!) :)

Laura, I really hope that someday I get to pass mine on to someone. Since I have boys obviously it won't be them but maybe someone. :)
