Sketch Week will basically be the same as it used to but in a little bit of a scaled down version. Instead of one sketch with five layouts shared Monday through Friday I'll be using one sketch and creating three layouts posted on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I can't promise that will happen every single month but it's definitely going to be something I do as often as I can.
The whole point of Sketch Week is to show how you can take one sketch and get multiple uses and looks out of it.
Each month I'll be using the free download sketch that you can find in the Scrapbook Generation online store. (For those of you that don't know: On the third Tuesday of the month we introduce a bunch of new sketches both as individuals and as groups of sketches that you can download for a small price. We also offer a free sketch each month. I'll post all information for the new February downloads tomorrow.) Today you are getting an advanced look at the free sketch since it is the sketch I'm using for Sketch Week.
Scrapbook Generation's Free February Download
*available for download on Tuesday, Feb. 19
"Charming"
Supplies - Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: My Mind's Eye; Chipboard buttons, banner piece and circle: My Mind's Eye; Brad: My Mind's Eye; Twine: American Crafts; Alphabets: American Crafts; Word stickers: My Mind's Eye; Embroidery floss: DMC
I followed the sketch very closely without changing a lot. It just so happened to work perfectly with the group of pictures that I wanted to use.
Variation #1 - I created a banner out of several different elements instead of making the heart banner as it is on the sketch.
I used a combination of chipboard buttons, banners, and circles, patterned paper banners, and a brad all stitched together with the brown twine. To finish it I added small bows on each end.
Sketch Week Giveaway
You can't have Sketch Week without a giveaway so of course we are going to do that too! This week the winner of the giveaway will receive their choice of one of my online classes (Sketch Support, 6 x 6 Paper Pads, or Photo Arrangement Replay) or one of the sketch bundle downloads (Halloween, Fall, Christmas, Winter, or Love).
To be eligible you can leave a comment each day. If you just comment one day you have one chance, if you comment on two days you have two chances, and if you comment each day you have three chances. (If you comment twice on one day, only the first comment will be eligible for the random drawing.) After Sketch Week is over I'll post the winner of the giveaway on Monday.
